St. Herman House has a thriving beekeeping program and we produce our own honey. Beekeeping is a great way for our residents to engage in an agricultural activity, spend time outdoors and learn a new skill. For residents suffering from PTSD, beekeeping can be therapeutic. All proceeds from honey sales directly support St. Herman House and our programs, so not only are you purchasing delicious, local raw honey but you’re helping the people we serve, too.
We started our beekeeping program in 2016 with 4 hives. Today we have hives at 3 different locations, including Ohio City. Our Apiary is called Spruce Island.
